Marina and The Diamonds is the next Pop Queen

I have been mean­ing to blog/write/post music videos about Ms. Marina. Marina and The Dia­monds a 23 year old brit who has been caus­ing quite the buzz. She already has four music videos under her belt despite not releas­ing her debut album, and is num­ber 2 in BBC’s Sound of 2010 list(whatever that is). Regard­less the vocals of her songs are very dis­tinct, and unique in com­par­i­son to the main­stream Pop scene. Truth­fully though being “The Next Best Thing” takes brand­ing. I love her music, and will prob­a­bly “buy” her album, but she needs to refine her con­cept if she wants to be mar­keted towards the zombtween Amer­i­can mar­ket.  My pre­dic­tion is that she is going to do well in Great Britain because they actu­ally do appre­ci­ate good music over there, but for her to tran­scend her iden­tity glob­ally she will need to become more visu­ally, and per­son­ally dis­tinct from the rest of the pop scene. Though she does seem to fit in with the rest of the pop scene.
