College

Oh hello. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten you. I’ve been checking up on you every now and then. Well blog it has been fun, and its still is going to be fun I assure you. I just have taken the time to acclimate myself to all of this newness. You see, I just haven’t had the time to sit down, and really give you some good hard loving. Well blog let me tell you about my college life.

As you may know I’m going to Rutgers University. I got in comfortably and cheap. For housing I applied to the Demarest Dorm. It is known as the weird, hippesque, and gay friendly place with the one eyed smiley face. Regardless of its dubious reputation it outshines every other dorm. Move in day was rainy and everyone seemed aloof or preoccupied, and busy. Unlike the rest of the dorms Demarest was blasting music and there was a happy crowd of tie-dye shirted folk willing to lug and trudge my stuff up to the second floor.

I met my roommate.
I moved beds.
I crammed stuff into the room.
I socialized.
We did some very standard icebreakers. We did show and tell. I brought my bible aka. Colbert’s “I am America and so can you”. Someone else brought Colbert along as well.
I socialized.
I got online.
That night all of us socializing freshmen folk partook in some revealing icebreakers. I learned of the people who like Animal Collective, I learned of the sexual things. I learned of the people in the dorm.

At about 4:00 am we were all stirred from our sleep by a screeching fire alarm. The police and firetrucks came. A officer gave us a little speech about how they know who you are and that its jail time. The speech came to an end with a single phrase that still resonates with me.

Welcome to Rutgers”

Our Art Room is really epic.
