I don&#039;t see this quote (from the same AP story, Oct 10) in most of the Frank-bashing gay press: &quot;Call or write your representative or senator, and then have your friends call and write their representative or senator,&quot; Frank said. &quot;That&#039;s what the NRA does. That&#039;s what the AARP does.&quot;
Frank has been out since 1987 (i know, who cares): there&#039;s a been a lot of marches and protests since then, but not much law.  The NRA and AARP - they do ok.  Frank is hopelessly blunt, and he doesn&#039;t give a damn about Frank-bashing.  Yeah I like him, and yeah he&#039;s a dinosaur.  He&#039;s just grown old and tired of flag-waving and the status quo.  I think he honestly does want to see progress in actual federal law before he retires.  He just counts votes.  Thanks for listening.</description>
